One of the most respected business publications in the region has recognised the hard work of F Word Training founder Serena Humphrey.
Yesterday (13th August) TheBusinessDesk.com announced the shortlist for its upcoming ‘East Midlands Leadership Awards and to Serena’s surprise, not only was she on the list, she was featured in two categories.
Serena is down to the final few in both the Professional Services and the Diversity & Inclusion categories, the latter being in recognition of her work setting up the hugely popular Corona Business Advice support group on Facebook.
‘This was a huge surprise to me, mainly because I didn’t even realise I had been nominated! I was just finishing up filming the final video (of more than 100!) ahead of the launch of the new F Word Training Academy and my phone started pinging with alerts from Linkedin where the news was doing the rounds.
‘I had a look whilst taking a well earned break from filming and once I had got my head around being nominated, let alone shortlisted, I was totally overwhelmed by so many of the supportive comments from people on there.
‘The Corona support group was something that really evolved and almost took on a life of its own and I am just so glad that it has helped so many people. There’s over 3000 business owners in there and they are now all supporting each other with ideas and lots of highly respected experts are giving their time and advice for free to help people out. I’m flattered that the judges have seen fit to shortlist me and I look forward to the awards evening later this year, although I’m up against some pretty tough competition!’
