“I specialise in reporting the numbers that really matter – those that influence the future”
Starting my career in finance as an apprentice at 18 it’s fair to say I’ve worked every conceivable job within the finance function. Ledger clerk, credit control, payroll manager, management accountant and, for the last 5 years the finance director for a textile manufacturing firm.
During this time I’ve come to understand that good financial management is more than just keeping score. A great FD understands and exploits the strengths of a business whilst protecting it against risk. I worked closely with all functions in the business to achieve this.
I've got a particular expertise in the manufacturing sector, having been extensively involved with supply chain management, design and implementation of full ERP systems and I've got Yellow Belt certification in Lean Six Sigma. So I know exactly what mangement information is needed to run a successful manufacturing operation. I'm also the F Word spread sheet demon!
Strong financial directorship has a significant impact on the success of an organisation, whether in improved profitability, cash generation or business valuation.
